Some tips I found useful: * Keep a scanned copy of your passport, ID, drivers license and similar in an email or some server you can reach via internet (like yahoo or MSN). Always nice and handy to have if you lose the real thing. * The smaller bags you have the less you take with you. Works like a charm if you dont mind living sparse (if you do, maybe a mobile home is a better choice of travel). * A headlamp is super! Lets you see in dark with both hands free and small to pack. * Euros work in most places. Always a good idea to keep like 100-300€ in small notes (5,10,20) someplace in your pack as a reserve. * When driving in sand or loose gravel, drive standing up to improve handling and balance.
